The workweek is almost over! Plan your weekend using this list of our Concierge Team’s favorite events happening in Chicago.

Chicago Gourmet (Sat. and Sun., Sept. 28 and 29) Enjoy food and wine from more than 100 of Chicago’s finest restaurants and chefs, as well as hundreds of vintners, spirit makers, and breweries from around the globe. One-day and two-day passes are available.

Rogers Park Harvest (Sat., Sept. 28) This family-friendly festival at Willye B. White Park will have hayrides, a pumpkin patch, inflatables, entertainment, and refreshments.

Pullman Porter Blues (Sat., Sept. 28) This musical, set in June 1937, takes the audience on a journey aboard the Pullman Trains, where the hidden lives of African American porters take center stage. Classic and original blues favorites, including “Sweet Home Chicago,” are performed by a live band.

Design Harvest (Sat. and Sun., Sept. 28 and 29) This festival, which takes place on Grand Avenue between Damen Avenue and Wood Street, features local furniture and home accessory makers, vintage and antique sellers, and local home decor retailers. And don’t miss the square dance in the street with music by the Golden Horse Ranch Band  at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Mile of Murals (Sun., Sept. 29) The goal of this community-based public art initiative in the Rogers Park neighborhood is to paint a mile of murals along the CTA Red Line track from Estes Avenue to Pratt Boulevard along the Glenwood Avenue train line. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the eighth and ninth murals will be held at Lunt and Glenwood avenues by the Lunt exit of the Morse Red Line EL station at noon.
