Looking for things to do in Chicago over the weekend? Here are a few of the Reside Living Concierge Team’s top picks for the weekend:
1. Chicago Women’s Funny Festival (Thursday-Sunday, June 6-9)
Chicago’s second annual festival celebrating women in comedy. Anything from stand-up, sketch, improv, burlesque, musical-comedy, solo shows and one acts.
2. Midsommarfest (Friday-Sunday, June 7-9)
Midsommarfest is Andersonville’s annual summer street festival, now entering its 48th year. Each year, nearly 50,000 people throng Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa for two days of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment, and delicious food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passers-by, while ethnic dance troupes and cutting-edge bands keep the party going.
3. Ribfest Chicago (Friday-Sunday, June 7-9)
What ignited in the summer of 1999 as a community block party has exploded into Chicago’s most anticipated street festival—averaging 50,000 pounds of pork and 50,000+ attendees who love to kickoff summer at this three-day event.
4. Wells Street Art Festival (Saturday & Sunday, June 8-9)
The annual art extravaganza features the works of more than 250 juried artists with the eclectic mix running the gamut from paintings, sculptures and glasswork to photography, ceramics, woodwork and much more. It also features the tasty cuisine of Old Town restaurants, the always-hoppin’ music stage, and a silent auction.
