Things To Do In Chicago This Weekend (St. Patrick’s Day Edition)

Happy St. Paddy’s Day, Chicago! Our team has put together a list of things to do in Chicago this weekend. How are you celebrating?

St Paddy’s Day 5k (March 16)

Celebrate fitness and achievement with a festival flair and kick off the holiday weekend by participating in Lincoln Park’s only St. Paddy’s Run! Post event enjoy an Irish-themed area where participants and sponsors will party to Irish entertainment and authentic refreshments. Live music both before and after the runs will be a great way to start your St. Patrick’s weekend.

Dyeing the River Green, St. Patrick’s Day Parade (March 16)

In what might be Chicago’s most famous St. Patrick’s Day ritual, make sure to head downtown to see the Chicago River turn a bright, beautiful shade of emerald green. Make sure to arrive before 10 a.m. Dyeing takes place at 10:45 a.m. sharp, followed by the downtown parade at 12:00 noon.

Chicago Chef Week (March 17-22)

Chicago Chef Week is a huge celebration of Chicago chefs and their cuisine taking place March 17th through 22nd. As a culinary capital of the country some of the most talented and innovative chefs work in Chicago’s world-class restaurants. In celebration of these chefs, seventy-one restaurants are offering prix fixe meals for both dinner and lunch, where the chefs get to cook and serve exactly what they want in multiple course flat-rate meals.
